The CAD M179 Variable-Pattern Condenser Microphone features an extended frequency range and a dual-pattern version of the original Equitek E-300 capsule. The high SPL capability (143 dB SPL with pad) and extended frequency range, the Cad M179 Microphone is ideal for a range of recording applications. With its premium-quality circuitry and versatile nature, the M179 Condenser Microphone is ideal for everything from capturing vocal performances to instrument such as electric guitars pianos and drums. The cardioid capsule and wide frequency response ensures you capture every nuance of your source material, while retaining its natural harmonics.

Premium-Grade Components

The large 1.1-inch dual diaphragm external bias condenser capsule features a gold sputtered design for optimal audio performance. The continuously variable pattern features a ‘hard’ cardiod centre detent, ideal for capturing a range of audio sources. The transformerless balanced output circuit is designed for optimal signal integrity. A 100Hz high-pass filter is ideal for removing unwanted low-end noise while recording, ideal for vocal performance and capturing instruments. Also included is a 20dB non-capacitive pad, avoiding any clipping for hotter signals.

Vintage-Style Design

CAD M179 Variable-Pattern Condenser Microphone’s vintage-style design is reminiscent of condenser microphones from the 70s and 80s. The built-in stainless steel internal pop/EMI filter helps to reduce sibilance and plosive sounds, improving audio quality and performance. The variable pattern dial allows you to switch between patterns with ease. Additionally, the CAD M179 comes complete with a swivel mount, elastic shock mount and carrying case for added convenience.
