The Martin Miller Signature Ibanez Guitar originates from the revolutionary AZ series. This series has boutique-inspired specifications and fuses the aesthetics of classic guitars with a thoroughly up-to-date playing setup. Martin Miller is a fusion player who blends elements of jazz and rock with an impeccable technique and musicianship. To match his incredible playing style, the MM1 guitar has a focused specification geared towards effortless playability, elegant aesthetics and a highly nuanced, responsive, and versatile tonality. The Martin Miller signature guitar is a refined guitar featuring the latest tech; it is the ideal instrument for modern musicians.
The Ibanez MM1 Martin Miller has an African mahogany body topped with flamed maple, providing a warm and resonant tonality, excellent sustain, stand-out aesthetics, and enhanced overtones courtesy of the maple top. African mahogany is a lightweight wood which makes this guitar incredibly well-balanced and comfortable to play.
The neck and fingerboard are both made from maple and treated with Ibanez's S-TECH WOOD treatment. This roasting process removes the impurities and creates tonewoods with enhanced strength and consistency for more sustain, resonance, and tuning stability. The neck features Ibanez's vintage headstock for a classic look.
Ibanez are renowned for their ability to design and make guitars with effortless playability. This guitar features stainless steel jumbo frets that not only help the strings ring with more resonance, they also last far longer than traditional nickel frets before showing signs of wear.
The jumbo-sized frets give improved control over the strings which makes playing solo techniques far easier, such as when applying string-bends and vibrato. The roasted maple neck is finished with oil and gives an incredibly smooth feel - like a great guitar that's been played for years. The neck's profile is inspired by vintage guitars and, while it's not overly 'chunky', it sits comfortably in the hand and gives a confident feel with a balance between slim-necked shred guitars and fast-necked blues/rock guitars.
The asymmetric double cutaway body is comfortably contoured and gives excellent access to the top-end of the fingerboard. Ibanez's new Super All Access bolt-on joint also gives easy reach at the top of the neck with its low-profile design. The MM1's blend of sleek playing specifications and vintage-inspired design touches give you the best of vintage and modern guitars.
The Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups are designed specifically for the Ibanez AZ series, featuring a moderate output and alnico V magnets to maintain the clarity of the fundamental tone when distorted. They have a clear pick-attack and a balanced response across all the frequencies, making them ideal for a wide range of genres. The HH configuration gives the MM1 a balance between powerful bridge-position tones and mellow neck-position sounds.
Coupled with the powerful Hyperion pickups is a dyna-MIX 10 switching system with an ''alter switch'' toggle to provide up to 10 distinct sound variations. Engaging the toggle enables a range of different tones and pickup combinations that radically expand the potential of this guitar.
The MM1 has a plethora of thoughtful considerations intended for a professional performance. The oil-impregnated bone nut provides a low-friction platform for your strings to sit, giving a rich resonance and excellent tuning stability. This bone nut enables string bends to be performed confidently and helps the Ibanez T1802 synchronized bridge work without affecting your tuning. The bridge has a 10.5mm string-spacing for easy string-crossing when picking, and the vintage-style saddles gives full adjustability and a classic aesthetic.
The MM1 is loaded with Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads with height adjustable posts. These allow you to change the individual string height and create the optimum breaking-angle for the perfect tension. The locking design also enables quick string changes for professional use.
Luminescent side-dots give a clear visual indication on stage, and for the ultimate protection, the MM1 comes complete with a hardshell case so you'll be immediately ready to get gigging and rehearsing.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars has been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology for decades, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination and consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments available. Although Ibanez has existed since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980s that it began to form a distinct identity for itself when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez is a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
