The Flora Passionflower comes equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp, which provides amplified acoustic sound for live and rehearsal environments. Simply plug in to an amp or P.A system and listen to your acoustic's natural tonal character come alive through this sophisticated and compact system. The preamp features rotary controls for bass, treble, and volume, as well as a phase button, and the added convenience of a built-in tuner.

Quilt Maple & Maple Construction

The Luna Flora Passionflower features a striking quilt maple top, which not only offers a stunning aesthetic, but delivers great tonal properties that are ideal for a wide range of genres. With a quilt maple top and maple back and sides, the Passionflower produces bright singing highs, a strong upper mid-range, with good sustain and plenty of bite.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Flora Passionflower's neck provides players with a sonic warmth, as well as superb resonance and great durability. Mahogany is used commonly to craft guitar necks, this is because the wood responds greatly to numerous playing styles and techniques with ease. Luna have also provided players with a C shaped neck profile, which not only offers comfort but enables players to get a firm grip without cramping hands. Its smooth playing neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that delivers a warm, bright, sizzling-sparkle which really shines through when playing fingerpicking techniques. Rosewood when used as a fingerboard also offers a smooth and energetic play. For added elegance, the fingerboard is sprinkled with Luna's signature moon phase inlays.

Parlour Cutaway Body Shape

The Luna Flora Passionflower features a parlour body shape, which was originally designed to be small and comfortable enough to sit and play in an armchair. Parlour shaped guitars are ideal for those players who favour more low-key, less brash musical styles like alternative indie genres, blues and folk. Its sleek, slim body and slightly sloped shoulders all provide a comfortable playing experience, making it easy to play for long periods of time. The Flora Lotus features a venetian cutaway which enables players to reach more challenging chords with ease. Venetian cutaways are renowned for their soft, smooth, and curvaceous lines, and promote the access to upper fingerboard shredding. For those blues and folk enthusiasts, the cutaway enables a more comfortable slide when using a glass or steel slide.

The passionflower soundhole rosette is inlaid in mother-of-pearl to match its signature moon phase fingerboard markers. These intricate and delicate details embody Luna's love for nature perfectly and project and magical vibe to match a players personality.

Luna History

Yvonne Villiers is an accomplished stained-glass artist who envisioned Luna guitars. Her inspiration for a line of guitars designed to maximise playing comfort came from her mother, Hilda Villiers, a bassist for over 40 years. Whilst watching her mum on stage, Yvonne couldn't help but notice the massive struggle her mum had whilst playing. With her mum being petite and using such a heavy instrument, she used to complain of how hard it was to be a woman and try to play these big bass guitars.

Yvonne then questioned if there were others like her mum that struggled with the same problems and pains. She came up with the idea of a woman specific guitar, uniquely tailored to fit their bodies, their hands, and their musical styles. Yvonne moved on to created Luna guitars, a line of guitars made for female musicians of all ages and crafted with luminous visual beauty to engage women's minds and spirits along with their talent.

Yvonne already had brilliant artistic skills and use of colour, she then applied the same techniques as she did with her award winning stained glass work to her new line of guitars. She is known for using rich colours that shimmer and shine with every movement providing an eye-catching design along with the great musical tones Luna guitars deliver. Yvonne's design expertise has led so many men to respond to Luna's well-crafted, spirit-engaging instruments that the company now creates guitars for both female and male musicians of all ages.
