The PRS CE 24 Ltd. Guitar features a thin satin nitrocellulose finish, keeping the guitar lightweight while showing off the natural pours of the tonewood for an organic feel. The satin finish has a matte texture, making it ideal for gigging guitarists as it won’t glare under stage lighting, ensuring it looks good in photographs compared to high-gloss. In addition, this type of finish allows the mahogany body to resonate freely, delivering a warmer and more crisp tone compared to gloss.
A set of PRS 85/15 humbuckers provides the PRS CE 24 with remarkable clarity, creating an extended high and low end for an incredibly versatile sound. Incorporating a push/pull coil tap control on the tone pot, the CE 24 Satin can produce a wide range of sounds and tones suitable for versatile guitarists. Simply push/pull the tone control to switch the pickups between single-coil and full humbucking modes, and use the 3-way pickup selector to create fantastic tones for a range of musical styles.
The PRS designed non-locking tremolo bridge can be used to add vibrato and other pitch adjustment effects via the included nickel tremolo arm. With a string-through construction and a spring loaded action, the tremolo bridge offers unique accents perfect for lead guitarists, whilst the locking tuners enhances the string's tuning stability and resonance.
The CE 24 Satin Guitar features a bolted neck construction, offering a cutting frequency split which can be heard on hundreds of classic rock 'n' roll albums. The maple neck has a bright, instant response to add clarity to your strings, while the ebony fingerboard adds a strong bass response for deep lows. The CE 24's neck has four high quality bolts and an individual back plate for reinforced strength, making it easily reliable to take on the road. The bolted neck delivers the iconic sounds of the 60s but with modern day reliability.
The CE series was originally introduced in 1988 as an upgraded interpretation of bolt-on guitars. This series defines itself on having a signature brightness with warm overtones. The mahogany body with maple top is a design used since 1989, offering a more developed tone and a stunning look. The humbuckers are designed by PRS for a pickup sound that precisely matches the guitar. The coil tap feature can be easily accessed on the tone controls, widening your sound range and versatility. After the CE series had been out of production for nearly a decade, it is now back with refined features and improved playability.
Launched in 1985 by Paul Reed Smith, PRS guitars offer an alternative approach to achieving excellence. Their unique approach to the design and build of their guitars has found them a distinct sound that has become a hallmark for hard rock. The slightly wider necks are ideal for technical guitarists who require space while scaling the fingerboard. As well as exceptional tone, PRS guitars have become famed for their stunningly intricate finishes. The bird inlays, distinctive colours and signature headstocks have inspired guitarists globally since their first production. The selection of ranges offers something to every style and budget. For guitarists looking for reliable and long lasting tone, PRS is an ideal choice.
