Satin Finish

The PRS S2 Vela features a satin nitro finish for its limited edition model, enhancing the guitar’s resonance while giving it some attitude. The satin finish also provides a matte texture, making it ideal for gigging musicians as it won’t glare under stage light and looks better in photographs, compared to a high-gloss finish. The satin nitro also protects the guitar from light dirt marks and fingerprints, keeping your guitar looking amazing even after constant playing.

Mahogany Body & Neck

Constructed from a Mahogany body and neck with a set-in design, the S2 Vela offers a warm and resonant tone with plenty of depth and grind. Mahogany is a medium to heavy wood, creating a strong and sturdy design that will stand up to the gigging musicians lifestyle. The neck’s set-in construction delivers an advanced sustain, as the increased contact between the neck and body allows vibrations to transfers easily between the neck heel and body.

PRS Plate-Style Bridge

The PRS designed plate-style bridge holds two brass saddles specifically designed for great sustain and perfect intonation, allowing both rhythm and lead tones to sound amazing no matter where you are on the fretboard. The fixed design also improve string and tuning stability to provide a smooth playing experience.

Starla & Type-D Pickups

Enjoy a bright, punchy tone with some noteworthy bite thanks to the PRS-Designed Starla pickup in the bridge and PRS-Designed Type-D Single coil in the neck. The Type-D pickup is designed to offer a beautiful vintage vibe, with an exceptionally lively and dynamic feel. The Starla humbucker provides powerfully grinding chords while still maintaining a crisp sharpness, letting single notes to sing.

Push/Pull Coil Tap

Incorporating a push/pull coil tap control on the tone pot, the PRS guitar can produce a range of sounds and tones perfect for versatile guitarists. Simply push/pull the tone control to switch the pickup between single coil and full humbucking modes, and use the 3-way pickup selector to create amazing tones tones for a range of music styles.
