This guitar is part of Yamaha's A-series range, the result of thousands of hours of development, prototyping, evaluations and field-testing combined with more than 50 years experience in crafting guitars. The A-Series construction was designed with input from players, luthiers and technicians with one goal in mind - to produce stunning tone. Rosewood provides striking low frequencies and sparkling highs, and the resonant dreadnought body assures a well projected and assured voice. This tone is then rendered and modeled by a 3-band EQ and preamp system, producing a studio-quality sound wherever you go.
The look of these guitars is designed like the sound - simple, elegant and powerful. Yamaha's trademark ultra-thin finish and hand selected tonewoods combine with a craftsmen-designed construction process to create a guitar with incredible resonance and personality.
The Yamaha A3R Electro Acoustic Guitar is beautifully constructed with a solid sitka spruce top, along with rosewood back and sides. Sitka spruce is a common choice for guitar sound boards due to its ability to generate a broad dynamic range that can be used in many different types of music. This choice of wood also accommodates numerous playing styles, and delivers a versatile tone when coupled with any other tonewood. The use of rosewood for the body offers a great tonal range that can reach both ends of the tonal spectrum. Rosewood also gives you a clear articulation, with a full low end and bright treble. Combined together, both woods offer an extremely versatile sound with plenty of resonance.
Yamaha's SRT pickup system is the result of painstaking studio research and development that you will not find anywhere else. The design of these pickups takes into account the characteristics of each individual string to give a signal response more sensitive to the tone and dynamics of your playing than a traditional ribbon piezo pickup. The signal is then processed and modeled using Yamaha's award-winning Digital Signal Processing to give you a studio sound even when on stage.
The included guitar case is lined with a crushed velvet type fabric which provides soft protection for your guitar and prevents scratches whilst the aluminium valance is unique to Hiscox Cases. These Hiscox 'Liteflite' cases exhibit enormous crush strength so you can be sure your guitar will be protected and safe.
