Taylor have refined the classic Dreadnought shape to suit their own needs, producing low-end power, a snappy midrange, and strong, clear treble notes. Whilst still offering the powerful tones that you would normally get from a dreadnought, the redesigned take provides the essence of the balanced Taylor sound. With a blend of power and articulation, this dreadnought acoustic is perfect for flatpickers as well as players who love the traditional guitar shape and tones.
Venetian Cutaway
The Venetian Cutaway is renowned for its soft, round lines, creating a visually stunning look that is recognisable on any body. This type of cutaway allows easier access to the upper frets for a comfortable play, and enables you with more freedom throughout the fingerboard.
Hawaiian Koa & Layered Koa
The 220ce DLX features a Hawaiian koa top, paired with a layered koa body for an eye-catching guitar that will stand out on any stage. The stunning koa top delivers a bright and focused tone that will mature into a warm, rich, sweet sound with age, while the layered koa body incorporates three layers of wood, with a poplar middle core in the centre. This layered construction also offers a climate-resilient construction, ideal for travelling musicians.
Unique Bracing Pattern
A significant factor behind the incredible sound of the 220ce DLX is the forward shifted bracing pattern, which allows the tonewoods to vibrate naturally, creating incredible depth and complexity. The 'x' in the bracing pattern is moved closer to the soundhole, enabling more of the guitar top to vibrate, delivering maximum tonal quality and projection.
