This DW Performance Snare features a thin 1mm rolled shell for a sleek, beadless look. Steel snares are bold, resilient and affordable and produce a versatile tone that slices through mixes with ease. The steel sound sits a bit higher int he mix with plenty of accents on treble and mids. This snare delivers consistently bright, aggressive attack.
The DW Performance Drums are custom-inspired, with double threaded centre lugs, new badge, logo head and a sleek finish. They're designed to get noticed for all the right reasons. Easy to tune, superior sounding shells, combined with DW heads by Remo USA, True Pitch™ Tuning and all-new MAG throw-off make these drums sing.
Chrome Standard Triple Flange Hoops give these drums a really versatile sound that suits all types of players from jazz and funk to rock and hip hop. The steel triple flange hoops on this snare are 3.0mm.
To give drummers even more control over their sound, DW created its patented True-Pitch® rod system. The rods feature 5mm threads rather than the 12/24 that’s standard on most other drums. To compare, there is 1 thread every 0.8mm on their True-Pitch® rods (about 20 more threads), versus 1 thread every 1.05mm on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process.
