The Dean Exhibition Koa features a solid koa top, which not only provides an exceptionally striking visual but also delivers a bright and punchy tonality. It also offers a sweet, warmer, and full toned voice as the koa matures. Its top is contrasted beautifully by its mahogany back and sides, as it produces a more focused, woody, punchy mid-range, thick well-defined tone with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles. Mahogany also contains distinct character of soft warmth but is well balanced with a bite of its own. The wood is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant.
