The ESP E-II Bass comes equipped with a set of Seymour Duncan SSB-5 Soapbar pickups, which deliver a strong sonic punch with great tonal properties suitable for a variety of playing styles. This pickup is designed for 5-string basses and drop tunings, offering the same articulation and low-end clarity shine found on 4-string basses but with an extended frequency range. Their moderate output provide subtle tonal qualities, adding an extra layer of depth and providing players with a beautifully organic feel.
This model also features a Seymour Duncan STC-3M3 Preamp, designed with a 3-band EQ for stacked bass/treble control and their proprietary slap switch located on the volume pot. Its bass, mids, and treble knobs provide the perfect level of control over the frequencies, while the balancer and volume controls let you find the bass’ sweet spot on any stage. Engaging the slap switch will deliver a specially voiced EQ contour, designed for the unique tones created from slap playing.

This tonewood is the perfect choice for producing clear and present notes, with its strong sustain and sharp bite adding extra detail to the top end while tightening up the low-end. Thanks to the bolt-on construction, the overall tone is enhanced with more treble and attack than traditional set-necks, offering plenty of articulation and upper fret access. The neck also features a thin-U profile, allowing players to easily reach across the entire fingerboard without losing any comfort.
