To achieve that classic Tele sound, this Custom Shop Heavy Relic guitar is loaded with a pair of Custom Shop Hand-Wound '51 Nocaster pickups. Located at the neck and bridge, the single-coil pickups stay true to the original's tones with that signature twang and smooth, full midrange. There is a 3-position toggle to switch between the pickups, as well as Volume and Tone controls for fine-tuning the sound.
The 1951 Nocaster is crafted with an ash body, offering a light and comfortable playing experience. Ash delivers a sound that has plenty of twang, as well as being both crisp and articulate. Its sound accommodates for a range of different styles, with its firm lows, snappy highs and a sweet sustain.
This Fender Custom Shop 1951 features a V shaped neck, that is designed for a smooth playing experience. The V neck shape allows the player to quickly shred the maple fingerboard. Both the neck and fingerboard are made from maple, which provides beautifully bright tones, with searing highs and strong mids for a dynamic performance.
For a stable tone that you can rely on throughout the night, the Fender Heavy Relic Nocaster is equipped with Fender hardware. The 3-Saddle Vintage Style String Through Tele bridge offers excellent intonation, and improves sustain. The bridge is assisted by Vintage-Style tuners that keep your tone stable. The Fender Custom Shop 1951 telecaster features a bone nut that adds to the classic aesthetic as well as Bone naturally self-lubricates to help the guitar to stay in tune for longer.
Fender's Time Machine series celebrates the heritage and legacy of the very first pioneers of the company. The models within this Custom series have been designed and crafted with the same techniques, to replicate their originals. The Time Machine Series feature a different finish treatment, to create real authenticity. This Custom Shop 1951 has a Heavy Relic finish which is the most intense, with its hardcore wear and tear appearance, to represent the image of decades of a punishing tour schedule.
