Three distinctive circuits - inspired by classic British Tone Bender pedals
Recreating the responsive and rude fuzz that made the iconic British Tone Bender pedals legendary, Unleash the power of not one, but TWO of the most sought-after vintage Tone Bender fuzz pedals that took the UK by storm. Like the original two-transistor and three-transistor vintage pedals, the Warm Bender captures all the raw, unhinged tones that put this style of fuzz on the map. But that's not all - we've also included a bonus third circuit, featuring silicon transistors in the 3-transistor topology, for a more modern take on this legendary flavour of fuzz.
NOS 76 Setting - Cut Through The Mix: If you're looking for bright, edgy, cutting tones that demand attention, the NOS 76 setting on the WarmBender is for you. This flavour of fuzz, based on the OC76 transistor, delivers aggressive fuzz with raw grit and a sharp attack. It captures the essence of the original silver and black Tone Bender style of fuzz and is perfect for those moments when you need your guitar to truly cut through the mix.
NOS 75 Setting - Get The Warm & Fuzzies: For thunderous bass, smooth wooly tones, and fat fuzz that will give you the "warm and fuzzies," the NOS 75 setting on the WarmBender is the way to go. Inspired by the 3-transistor, Professional MKII / OC75-based British fuzz pedals, this setting reveals a saturated, round, and darker sound that harkens back to the most riff-worthy British-made fuzz pedals of yesteryear.
Silicon Setting - Modern, Controlled Chaos: The WarmBender's silicon setting takes the 3-transistor topology of the NOS 75 setting and adds a modern twist by replacing the Germanium transistors with state-of-the-art silicon components. This setting acts as a bridge between traditional Tone Bender fuzz and more modern distortion-like tones. Expect smoother sustain, natural compression, and fuzz that plays beautifully in any mix.
Iconic two-knobs tone bender controls
The WarmBender stays true to its roots with the classic 'Level' and 'Attack' controls that made the NOS 75 & NOS 76 Tone Bender-style pedals so iconic. The 'Level' control allows you to adjust the output volume of the pedal, regulating the overall loudness of the effect. Meanwhile, the 'Attack' control determines the level of distortion and sustain of the fuzz.
But Warm Audio didn't stop there - they’ve also added some extra controls to enhance your sonic journey. The rotary Version switch lets you choose your preferred 100 percent analog bender-style circuit, while the rear-mounted SAG switch allows you to starve the pedal of voltage for even more tonal possibilities.
Authentic sound via NOS germanium transistors
To authentically reproduce the intricate tones and unique separate circuits of vintage Tone Bender fuzz pedals, Warm Audio has used NOS germanium transistors in the first two positions of the WarmBender. Position #1 features a two-transistor fuzz with an NOS OC76 transistor paired with an NOS SFT337. Position #2 showcases a three-transistor fuzz with (3X) NOS OC75 transistors. Each transistor in the WarmBender is meticulously hand-tested with tight tolerances to ensure consistent performance.
SAG switch - tap into the unique sound of original Tone Bender-style fuzz pedals
The WarmBender's SAG switch offers something truly special - the ability to recreate the unique sound of original Tone Bender-style fuzz pedals when the batteries would die or the power was starved. These starved-circuit tones are ultra touch-sensitive, especially when rolling down the volume knob on your guitar. Prepare to experience the magic and dynamics of tweed/mid-gain amps on the edge of breakup.
