Key Features
Product Ref: 127989
The eowave Quadrantid Swarm is a versatile desktop synthesizer featuring a touch-capacitive keyboard. The Swarm Synthesizer is perfect for sound design applications, featuring a built-in LFO with eight waveforms, modulation control, spring reverb, slew limiter and a 2-pole filter.
Quadrantid Swarm comes pre-patched so you can use it straight out of the box. The pre-patched design features arrows that point to the necessary connections and modulation sources. A simple VCA can be access via patching to the envelope, LFO or an external source for amplifying the synth.
At the heart of the Swarm Synthesizer is an oscillator section with a digital wave generator. The spread control allows you multiple a waveform up to eight times. The Character helps you to create timbres, ranging from brash and distorted tones to clean and glass-like sounds. It also includes an additional sine wave, providing an extra layer for your sound design.
The synth provides eight modes of operation in total. It comes complete with a cheat sheet with details for achieving the following sounds and textures: Organ, Strings, Drone, Noise, Grains, Perc, metal Chiptune.
The touch keyboard can be used in various modes: Monophonic, Polyphonic or as an eight-step sequencer. The touch-capacitive design conducts the signal from your body. Some of the modes includes pressure sensitivity for optimal expression.
Dual analog 12dB filter are incorporated for shaping and sculpting your sounds. The filters design is borrowed from the ‘fluctuations magnétiques' module, providing rich and versatile tonality. The first filter provides two modes – high and low pass. Filter 2 is strictly a low pass filter.
You are not limited to just high pass or low pass modes, as you can blend the two poles together to create a bandpass filter. The versatile controls allow you to achieve unique filter shapes for in-depth sound sculpting
The modulation section features a wide range of controls including potentiometers for the Envelope and LFO. With the two modulation sources you can take your creativity to new levels. The envelope is pre-patched to the cutoff on Filter 1. The LFO comes pre-patched to the cutoff of Filter 2.
The LFO provides seven selectable waveforms, accessible via the Shape function. The eighth mode is provided by external sources via the sequencer CV output. You can use the Speed knob to set the speed of modulation. A square output is also included for triggering clock resets and more.
One of the most unique features available is the integrated Spring Reverb. The analog spring reverb provides vintage-style character to your sounds. The spring reverb can be used for everything from subtle echoes to complex overdrives when fed back into itself.
A built-in Slew Limiter features both inputs and outputs as well as a dedicated potentiometer for controlling the amount. The slew limiter helps to smooth out incoming signals, ideal for getting in-depth with external sources.
The desktop-based design is compact and robust, making it highly portable. This makes the synth ideal for sound experimentation, jamming, live performances and even studio work. The robust design is constructed from an all-metal chassis with wooden side panels.
The Quantrantid Swarm provides a wide range of patch points and CV connectivity. This allows you to use the synth to control and manipulate external audio sources. It includes MIDI, CV and audio inputs for a range of parameters. The synth also comes complete with a standard MIDI to 3.5mm adapter.
