Engine DJ 3.2 - a whole host of new functions and upgrades

Engine DJ 3.2 is here! With a variety of new functions, modes and enhancements; the new firmware update has something for everyone including Engine OS and Engine Desktop units. The newly introduced Day Mode offers a user interface that is optimized for daylight use. You can activate this feature through the Control Center by selecting the new Layout option. Another major enhancement is the Fuzzy Key Mixing, which allows for more flexible mixing by synchronizing songs to the closest compatible key, reducing the risk of significant pitch jumps when syncing multiple tracks. However, you can always revert to the traditional “Strict” mode via the hardware’s Settings menu.

The FX Select feature introduces a new effect selection menu for both Main and Touch FX, enabling quick and easy effect selection via the touchscreen. Please note, for PRIME 4 and PRIME 4+, this feature currently only applies to Touch FX, with the Main FX selection menu set to be added in future releases. The update also brings Flex Gate FX, a revamped gate effect with various types that sync to the track’s phase, replacing the Auto Gate effect. Additionally, Numark Engine DJ devices now have the option to switch between Isolate and Normal mixer EQ types.

This release also includes numerous stability enhancements and improvements. For Engine DJ Desktop users, the update has improved downbeat detection capabilities for greater accuracy in identifying a track’s first beat. To utilize this enhancement, tracks will need to be reanalysed in Engine DJ Desktop. Lastly, this version also brings various stability enhancements and improvements to provide a smoother user experience.

The Prime Go features a 7-inch touchscreen that allows you to make precise alterations to audio. The multi-gesture experience offered by the touchscreen means you can navigate your audio collection, swipe to load tracks and instantly search through large music libraries. This can significantly improve your workflow and help you achieve professional-quality performances anywhere.

A range of connection options

The Prime Go offers USB and SD inputs to play your music from. This is ideal when multiple DJ’s are playing, allowing for seamless changes between sets. With both USB and SD inputs, it’s possible to leave a fully loaded SD in to perform instantly. Want to record your DJ set for an important gig? No problem. Record directly to any connected media source, even the one you’re playing music from.

Standalone music streaming

In a world of streaming, the Prime Go helps put over 60 million songs at your fingertips. The Prime Go can be connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data to stream music directly from Tidal. This completely eliminates the need for a laptop and is sure to have even the most left-field requests covered.

There’s no need to compromise on audio, regardless of the environment. The Prime Go offers Denon DJ’s renowned 24 bit/48kHz pristine audio quality. This is accessed via the variety of connectivity options located on the back of the Prime Go. The Prime Go controller also features a StagelinQ connection which can control SoundSwitch lighting, Resolume video and TimeCode software. This makes it easy to sync your music to mobile and mainstage lighting setups. This can turn a standard set into a professional production.

Effect your mix

The Prime Go has many parameters that allow you to get hands-on with the mix. Get creative using the touch-responsive trigger pads for hot-cue juggling, looping and beat rolls, plus a class-leading time stretch and key shift/sync feature to radically change a songs tempo and musical key.

Get your voice heard

No need to use your line faders, the Prime Go offers dual independent, level-controlled microphone channels. These are accessed via XLR-1/4-inch combo inputs. The talk over feature makes full use of this, automatically adjusting the level allowing you to make your big announcement.

Making sure your performance goes uninterrupted is Denon DJ’s ENGINE OS. This allows every component to operate at its best, meaning you can concentrate on your performance. The software can be frequently updated, ensuring you are always up to date in the DJing world. You will also gain access to ENGINE PRIME library software. This is your one-stop music library and set prep tool, connecting seamlessly to other popular music collection resources. Using just the Prime Go, you are also able to import a full Rekordbox collection straight from the media source. This is then internally analysed within the Prime Go unit.
