Step into the golden age of recording. The Golden Age Project R1 MKII Passive Ribbon Mic is a vintage-style ribbon microphone designed for capturing detailed vocal and instrument recordings. The R1 MKII's unique and natural sound is normally associated with classic ribbon microphones, providing a smooth high-range and an extended low-end for deep and defined bass response.
The internal ribbon is 50mm long, with it being 2 microns thick, the fast transient response is further accentuated with its ability to handle high sound pressure levels, ranging up to 160dB PSL. It features a figure-8 polar pattern, picking up audio from the front and the rear of the microphone, whilst rejecting sounds from the sides. The Golden Age R1 MK2 is ideal for recording electric guitars, vocals, strings, orchestras and more.

At the core of the Golden Age R1 MKII is a 500mm long ribbon, made from 2 micron-thick aluminium foil. There is also an internal shock mount for the ribbon and magnet assembly. It features a figure-8 pattern which is designed to capture sound from the front and the back of the capsule, whilst rejecting any sound from the sides. This can be great for duets, orchestras, ensembles and more. Its versatile design means you can use it for a variety of recording applications and sound sources, from the live performances to the studio. The microphone is highly suited to recording vocals, guitars, orchestras, strings, horns, choral groups and more.
