The Joué Board is one of the world’s first fully modular MIDI controller. The sleek and streamline design features three slots. The three slots allow you to incorporate any module from the Joué Magic Module range. At the heart of the Board controller is a highly-sensitive polyphonic sensor. The sensor reacts to touch, providing velocity-sensitivity for added expression.
The Board reacts and feels like a real instrument, ideal for any player. It responds to gestures such as tapping, vibrato, bending and aftertouch. The modules are comprised of soft and elastic controls, providing an analog-feel to the controller.
The three integrated slots allow you to incorporate any of the Magic Modules available for the Board. Each slot features an RFID reader, recognising and reaction in real-time when modules are introduced. Each of the modules feature their own characteristics, providing various ways to trigger and play with sounds.
The Magic Modules are comprised of: Synth, Scaler, Area, Bubbles, Rounds, Pads, Fretboard and Strips. For example, the synth module features a 1 ½ octave keyboard, complete with 4 configurable buttons. It reacts like a standard keyboard with aftertouch, vibrato and Y control.
The controller sends MIDI data to the connected device, making it perfect as a companion for any digital audio workstation or software synthesizer. It is ideal for controlling effects, triggering sounds and interacting with parameters. You can also customise the parameters of your modules using the dedicated Joué Editor software, for in-depth customisation.
Percussive key-style module for the Joué board. The Joué Scaler, Black/Purple bases its design on melodic percussive instruments, similar to xylophones, marimbas or even a harp. The Scaler Magic Module is one of the most comprehensive modules in the range. It features 17 velocity-sensitive keys with vibrato and aftertouch for optimal expressiveness. It also includes a 'Bubble' control accompanied by a ribbon controller for optimal control.
The Joué Strips, Blue is a versatile module that can be used horizontally or vertically for added flexibility. You can use your finger to manipulate any parameter within your favourite DAW or software synthesizer. The four tactile strips can be used to control the minimum, average and maximum values of a sound or parameter. It is great for modulation sounds, perfect for live performances.
The Joué Fretboard, Black/Yellow acts and reacts like a fretboard on a guitar, with four additional buttons for added control. The Fretboard Magic Module features six string parameters and nine frets. It also includes +/- octave keys for transposing the octaves. The additional two configurable keys allow you to control various parameters, ideal for modulation applications. One of the most unique features is the ability to tune the strings together or individually.
The Joué Pads is a pad controller module featuring 16 velocity-sensitive pads. The Pads Magic Module is configured in a 4 x 4 matrix, with soft rubber pads for a great, natural feel. The pads can be used for triggering sounds, samples, FX and vocal one-shots. It is ideal for both live use and music production. It also responds to vibrato and aftertouch, providing optimal expression for your controller. Each pad can be fine-tuned using the Joué editor. The dynamic stop functionality added to the flexibility of the Pads. The robust and portable design fits easily within the Joué Board controller.
The Joué Area, Black/Yellow is part of the Magic Module series from Joué. It is designed for use with the Board MIDI Controller, providing the means to trigger sound by moving or striking the surface of the module. The Area Module is a touchpad controller, which relays X, Y and Z values to the Board controller. It can be used for a variety of applications including creating sweeps and FX transitions to controlling parameters within a software synth.
