Boasting a careful selection of samples, there are over 30 different instruments derived from over 2000 recorded and edited tracks. Designed to be played, each drum has several different options to choose from to find the right flavour for your mix or project. Within Slammer you will find everything from traditional cymbals, snares, and bass drums to more obscure and unique sound design instruments such as crowbars, buckets and industrial equipment. Designed to offer a wide selection of sounds whilst remaining true to the core sound, each different instrument can be used to replace traditional parts of a drum set to create one cohesive kit.
A fully-featured instrument, Klevgrand Slammer offers full control over each drum independently. Within the main instrument panel, you can adjust the independent pan and volume to create a perfectly balanced mix of all 12 different kit pieces. Further editing unlocks a deeper level of customisation to suit your needs. Each instrument features a settings panel which employs control over the gain, pitch and pan of every possible selection of sounds within your instrument, alongside envelope control over the decay and transient to either enhance or soften the punch and sustain of your drum sound. Designed to be played, Slammer also includes a velocity curve control for each drum to adjust the sensitivity of the different layers throughout the range to fit your electronic drum pads.
Additionally, a Low shelf at 200Hz and a high shelf at 6500Hz offers under-the-hood processing for brightening or dulling a sound before it is processed through the onboard mixing components found in the main compartment.
Ensuring you will never need to open another plug-in to enhance the sounds of your drums, Klevgrand Slammer features three powerful onboard processing modules, Dirt, Reverb and Tone. Reverb allows you to add depth and space to your sounds, a common practice found in professional mixing studios when working with drum kits. Six unique reverb spaces are included from natural rooms, outdoor spaces, industrial-sized warehouses and even wooden studio emulations. Each imprinting a distinctive character, you can control the decay amount for each space and adjust the level to blend to taste. Within the settings page, you can adjust how much signal of each drum is sent to the reverb bus, much like an AUX send on a traditional console to ensure that you are only sending the right instruments to your effect for the right sound.
Slammer by name, slamming by sound. The Dirt module is where the fun begins. Eight different distortion types have been purpose-designed to enhance certain frequency ranges for a vast range of different distortion sounds. Low end, Mid Range, High End and Broadband are all presented to target specific frequency ranges in your sound. Each mode features an additional setting for each frequency range (highlighted with a '+' cymbal) to provide a more aggressive sound with an increased Q-factor for more targetted distortion. Here, you can adjust the level of the distortion, and the amount of distortion and add some 'squeeze' (compression) to your sound for a powerful punch and sustain with every hit.
Lastly, a master Tone section allows you to sculpt the signal after all the processing has been done to your signal. A three-band EQ with bass, mid and treble lets you customise your sound to your mix or lets you adjust for any changes in frequency with the inclusion of Reverb and Dirt to your signal.
