Refined signal processing with SteadyClock FS
SteadyClock FS technology in the Babyface Pro FS ensures accurate clocking, resulting in the lowest possible jitter and highest immunity to timing issues. This guarantees clean, detailed audio reproduction with improved depth and clarity. The enhanced clocking system helps maintain a stable sound image, which is crucial for capturing professional-quality recordings and mixes. With SteadyClock FS, you can trust the interface to deliver precise audio conversion without any interference from clock fluctuations.
Digital or analog signals are processed with superior accuracy, offering consistent results in all clock modes. This level of precision makes SteadyClock FS a key feature for anyone focused on high-quality audio performance.
Optimised inputs and outputs for pristine audio
The Babyface Pro FS offers exceptional audio performance with its improved mic and line inputs. Featuring a 76 dB gain range and switchable 48V phantom power, the two XLR inputs are ideal for a range of microphones, from dynamic to condenser. With an upgraded signal-to-noise ratio of 113.7 dB on mic inputs and 116.3 dB on line inputs, recordings are clearer, capturing more detail with less noise. The line inputs also benefit from reduced total harmonic distortion, making them highly effective for direct instrument recordings.
The interface also includes two separate headphone outputs, capable of driving both low and high impedance headphones, ensuring consistent sound quality across a variety of headphone types. The upgraded output circuitry provides improved power and lower distortion, making headphone monitoring precise and reliable.
Flexible mixing and routing with TotalMix FX
TotalMix FX is the Babyface Pro FS’s built-in digital mixer, offering a comprehensive range of routing and mixing options. Users can manage inputs, outputs, and playback channels independently, allowing for custom configurations for recording, live performance, or monitoring setups. TotalMix FX supports multiple independent submixes, giving users the flexibility to route audio to different outputs as needed.
The interface also includes a 3-band parametric EQ on all channels, along with reverb and echo effects. These built-in effects simplify sound processing without needing external plugins or software. TotalMix FX is available on both Windows and Mac, with an iOS version that allows for remote control of your mix via tablet, offering hands-on control from any location in your setup.
Compact and portable, yet expandable
The Babyface Pro FS packs a wide range of features into a highly portable design. Its USB bus-powered functionality makes it perfect for mobile recording without the need for external power. Despite its compact size, it offers extensive connectivity, with four analog I/O channels, ADAT support, and MIDI I/O via an included breakout cable.
The ADAT I/O enables expansion up to 12 analog inputs and outputs, making the Babyface Pro FS suitable for larger recording sessions or live setups. This expandability, combined with its portability, makes the interface an excellent choice for users who need versatility in different recording environments.
